Bau is, by it's very nature, a stupid web comic about two idiots that imagine lots of stupid things, love comics, and have a tendency to be slightly argumentative to their author.

It is in no way connected with that venerable German architectural publication bauwelt, although I readily admit to some site similarities (after all, who could not resist their bold use of bright yellow against a seductively silky dark background?).

There is also a blogspot blog with similar posts (this will open up in a new window thingy), and another blog site (Lord Haversham) containg older work.

Etymology

The word 'bau' is from Middle High German and Old High German bū. The plural form Bauten is that of the related German Low German word būte ‎(“building”), from Middle Low German būwete. The singular Baute did not catch on in standard German.
